I feel like my whole life I’ve been waiting for “life” to begin; for my dreams to become reality and my goals to come to fruition. But all the while “life” is passing by.
When I first found out I was pregnant with baby number 5, it felt like the final nail in the coffin burying any chance I had at a “music career.” I knew it was a stretch anyways at my age, but I still had a glimmer of hope. But when I realized I was pregnant and wasn’t going to be able to do any of the music videos and things we had planned to do to promote the album, I just knew that God was closing that door and leading us in a different direction. I soon felt very convicted about my sadness, realizing that this was not a death but the opposite! God was giving us new life!
The line that says “I found a heart beating” is two fold...it’s my heart waking up and also this new tiny beating heart inside my womb.
If I keep trying to arrive at some magical destination where “all my dreams come true and then I can finally start living,” then I will miss it all. Life will pass by and be gone and I will have missed all that God had for me to do and learn along the way.
So it’s my hearts cry to live in the moment and be thankful for the journey God has me on. It looks different than I thought it would, but different is good. And His plans are much better than mine. 🧡
